Very happy with pace of the story
By Vikki P
Very happy with pace of the story, vivid picture of how society was so structured by class, power, dictates of fashion and social interactions, and the story showed how ignorance of a person's culture (Scottish) could be so misrepresented by the English who saw themselves set apart, and high and mighty, and he Scots as savages. Very disappointed there won't be a followup to this series because the author has passed away. She captured me in each of the two books from the very beginning and the I was caught up in the love story within.

Makes me fall in love
By Nicholette Guttillo
All of Kathleen Givens books are truly wonderful. She brings you there with her on her journey. This is the first book I read that brought me to Scotland (if only in my mind). I love her style of writing, and the characters she shows you. During and after reading these, you can really imagine the strife of the people of Scotland. It is historically intriguing. These books led me to read Diane Galbaldon's Outlander Series. Some day I will get to Scotland because of these books. So beware, you might want to go there as well, after reading these.
